KINISI e-Mobility is a sustainable mobility initiative based in Auroville, Tamil Nadu, established in 2017. Its aim is to make electric transportation accessible and convenient for Auroville residents, volunteers and visitors by offering practical alternatives to conventional fuel-powered vehicles.
KINISI encourages people to explore Auroville and travel around the community using electric vehicles that offer a quieter ride and help reduce local air and noise pollution. Its approach supports Auroville’s wider vision of developing more environmentally conscious and sustainable transportation options.
The service offers a range of electric vehicles for rent and purchase, including electric bicycles, electric tricycles, electric scooters and electric three-wheeler scooters. These options help residents and visitors choose a vehicle suited to their mobility needs, whether they are exploring Auroville or looking for a convenient way to travel around the area.
KINISI provides flexible rental options, with rental periods and rates depending on the vehicle and duration. Its electric-cycle rentals include essential accessories such as a charger, lock and light. The team also provides assistance and service support to help keep vehicles in good working condition. Customers who have purchased or rented vehicles through KINISI can arrange service appointments through its service system.
By promoting electric mobility, KINISI contributes to reducing dependence on conventional fuel-powered transport and supports quieter, cleaner movement within Auroville. Its work brings together sustainable transportation, accessible mobility, environmental responsibility and practical community services.
